Postdocs & PhD students

PhD position as part of the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) to study the specificity, phylogeny and fitness contributions of phytoplasma effector proteins (Project 10 on The application deadlin is August 18, 2017.

Postdoctoral position or two PhD positions available to study the role of MADS-box genes in plant development and evolution. The focus of the research topic can be on experimental studies investigating the function of MADS-box genes in phylogenetically informative model plants using state of the art methods such as CRISPR/Cas9, or on comparative bioinformatics studies employing whole genome sequences (phylogenomics). For further information have a look at this announcement.

You can apply for state scholarships (Landesgraduiertenstipendien) to earn a PhD position. Contact us to talk about potential projects.

In general, we occasionally have openings for Postdocs and PhD students with strong skills in molecular biology or bioinformatics and an interest in the evolutionary or developmental genetics of plants. Please just contact us by eMail.

Bachelor and Master students and practical courses

We are always looking for students that would like to do a practical course or their Bachelor's or Master's thesis in our lab. Our research is centered on plant evolutionary developmental biology. We use a wide variety of methods from bioinformatics, molecular genetics and biochemistry. Please have a look at our research overview. Feel free to contact us if you are interested!
